"Lloyd Mitchell Canyon was formed in March of 2009 by guitarists Jeff Church and Billy Thoma. The band's initial recorded release, a seven song self-titled EP that mines the various experiences of its six members who are from every corner of America, from the mountains of Montana, the corn fields of Iowa, the wilderness of Alaska, the mean streets of New York and the expanse of East Texas. What comes from their varied experiences is a recording of true Americana with a sound all their own.
The first track, "Nine Mile Road", spins a tale of an altar-scorned woman who drives a back country road, packing a .44, looking for her runaway lover. What she will do when she finds him is something she isn't even sure of. "Way Out of State" sings of two young lovers who leave their small town lives for the promise of the big city after robbing the local liquor store. It all adds up to mystery and a little bit of fun!"
